Description

Used: Diversified Capping 74-450 vacuum steam capper designed to displace the air in the closure and headspace of the container with steam. Automatically applies lug or PT style caps onto glass containers. Currently set for a 77mm RTB cap. The machines consists of an elongated chamber with integral stainless steel 4 1/2" conveyor. Steam is piped into the chamber so that sealing is accomplished in a dry steam atmosphere. Containers are gripped by side belts and caps are picked up from the lower cap chute. The cap is oriented to the container thread and then tightened by the pressure belt assembly. An inclined chute receives the caps from the cap sorter and directs them to the cap pickup station by gravity. Steam is provided in the cap chute area to preheat the cap and to purge air from the cap. Maximum speed is 450 bpm and is controlled via a mechanically adjustable AC drive. Overall size is 26 3/4" wide x 8'-6" long x 5'-9" high for capper plus 4' wide x 3' long x 8' high for separate cap sorter. Container diameter range is 1 7/8" to 6 1/2". Container height range is 2 3/4" to 12". Cap diameter range is 27mm to 89mm. 100 psi dry steam required. Call (847)963-1201 for additional information.
